Running. Running. Running.
Is there something that keeps you sane? For years, running has been that activity for me. When I was younger, I even broke up with long term boyfriends because they could not respect how important running was to me, and were constantly asking me to give up my runs in order to do other things.
Running is a way of life.
For some of you, you could replace “running” with “gardening” or “planning with stickers” or “swimming” etc.
Those “way of life” activities are called self care. It is so, so important to make time for those things. When you don’t, everything else suffers.
Sometimes, when I am particularly grouchy, my incredibly perceptive husband will look at me and ask “When was the last time you went for a run?” *insert laughing emoji here* It only takes 15-20 minutes of self care to improve my relationship with my husband and children for a day or more. TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Here are a few of my favorite running quotes:
“There will come a day when I can no longer run… Today is not that day.”
“Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must, just don’t give up.”
“Run like you stole something.”
“A short run is better than no run.”
“Running reminds you that even in your weakest moments… you are strong.”
