It’s Move Out Day!

Do you know how much stuff you have? I didn’t. I knew we had settled into our house… But I had no idea what that really meant!

Between running two businesses out of our garage, a shed full of wood working tools, my husbands collections, and a three bedroom house full of life… We filled two 20′ storage containers, and four loads on the 8′ trailer! I am absolutely in awe of the amount of stuff we have accumulated! And if we did not have to be out today for our buyer’s final walk through, I would have been making a “to sell” and “to dump” pile.

As it is, we are on a hard deadline, so everything must come with us to the new place! Hopefully I will have the time and energy to sort through it all on move in day, and we can start in our new home with a clean slate!

These kiddos were great today, no naps, and lots of help! But the littlest finally let Nanny rock her to sleep as we finished up.

I have been prepping for this move for months. The one thing I was not properly braced for was the emotional shock it was going to have on my littles. As soon as we said it was time to go on one final walk through the back yard and house, it was complete break down mode!

I was nice enough not to take pictures while they were at the height of their distress… However, I snapped a few while they were steadfastly refusing to come down from their favorite tree.

It rained ALL. Day. Long. Which put us woefully behind, we were supposed to be out by noon, and did not finish up until after 5! Thankfully, even though our buyer’s walk through was supposed to be around noon, he ended up deciding to wait until the next morning!

Unexpected emotional turmoil number… nevermind I have lost count!

Now, you may see this Mack truck and think to yourself, what does that have to do with moving? They don’t own a dump truck! You are correct. No, we do not. However, these people live in the neighborhood behind us, and every time we go for a run, the kids always ask, “Mom, can we say hey to Mack?”

For nine years, almost every run I have gone on (and I am a 3-5times a week runner) we have run out and said hey to this Mack truck. *Insert Crocodile tears here* Even to the point where, if I was running alone, I would take a picture of him, and send it to the kids and say “Mack says hi!”

So, here we are, off on another leg of our journey! Where to exactly? Well, since our new home is not yet ready… Me, my husband, our four kids, their two guinea pigs, two rabbits, two cats, and our dog, are all crashing at my parents house! *Deep breath*

Off. We. Go!
